Ink Cartridge Recycling

We are recycling all our ink cartridges to reduce the amount that go into landfill, as well as raise money for the school.

Why not join us and bring in all your ink cartridges to Mr Morley or Miss Burton in the ICT department?

Box Fitness Time

Mr. Tunkara working hard with the KS3 boys to improve discipline and resilience.

Birthday time!

We have had 2 birthdays in Year 7 to celebrate over the past couple of weeks-Miss Long on the 30th January and Jaiden on the 8th February.
We like to all sit around the kitchen table in our room and enjoy cake and sing "happy birthday".
Here are some of our lovely photos of this:

Friday Fishing

As storm Doris was on her way we decided to have our Friday fishing session in school last week. Our instructor Mike joined us and gave a great practical session on assembling, rods, rigs and lures.

We learnt to make up a rig including fishing line, two hooks, a weight and snap links.
Then we attached these with different knots that Mike taught us, the blood knot and the Palomar knot.

We also added colourful beads and sequins as lures to attract different fish,

These new skills will help us to be more independent when we go fishing and have a better understanding of the equipment we are working with.

Polygon School does Task Master!

Last Friday Mr. Lloyd introduced Polygon School to the classic TV show Task Master. If you haven't seen the show there is a quick previous below.

Staff were given their own challenge by Mr. Lloyd which involved them trying to score as many baskets as possible in 60 seconds. We congratulated Miss. Burton who was creative enough to score 100 baskets in the time by using miniature Basketball hoop and ball.

Mr. Lloyd then explained a challenge to the pupils which included several mini creative tasks which were worth different amounts of points, which went towards group totals. Tutor groups were given 5 minutes to complete the tasks.

Congratulations to the winning tutor group overall - 4CM, who won the Task Master Certificate and a selection box. We look forward towards the next round of challenges later on in the year!
