Head Boy Elections 2022
Today the school community took part in elections for Head boy. Year 11 pupils were all on the ballot paper and the turn out was high.
In Citizenship we have been covering democracy and voting so this day gave a perfect opportunity for the pupils to see democracy at work.
The votes will be counted over the weekend and the Head boy and Deputy Head boy will be announced on Monday 3rd October.
27 pupils were lucky enough to experience an afternoon at the theatre and were treated to a mesmerising performance of "The Lion King" at The Mayflower Theatre. We enjoyed all the music from the original film as well as immersive puppetry and costumes. Pupils especially enjoyed the gigantic elephant which walked through the audience!
The Lion King has been linked to whole school projects across all subjects this term and it was certainly a spectacle to see off all their hard work!
Citizenship - Lion King
As part of the whole school learning topic on 'The Lion King' groups in Citizenship looked at the lives of the Maasai People.
They learnt about their culture, lifestyle and rituals. One of these rituals was the 'Adamu' jumping ceremony. Young men jump as high as they can to see who has the highest status within the group. As you can see 3JG were more than willing to jump to the challenge with some impressive results.
Well done to 3JG.
In Outdoor Learning this week 3JG pupils were working on their balance as they were challenged to hold some yoga poses whilst on top of a stepping stone. Pupils were mastering the tree pose and the arabesque. Well done everyone for giving it a go.
Pupils in 3HI had a great day exploring Southampton Boat Show. They were lucky enough to get on the water with Rockley Watersports and have a go at sailing, as well having the opportunity to enjoy thrilling high speed R.H.I.B ride. A great day was enjoyed by all.
Lots of fun was had by 3DRB yesterday as we explored the boat show discussing our dream purchases and using our social skills to collect freebies!
The pupils engaged in water safety conversations with coast guides and the RNLI.
We walked over 5miles and certainly completed our HH5 target this week!

Southampton Boat Show
On Tuesday 20th September pupils were invited to attend the Boat Show as part of their Education Day at the event.
When there pupils were able to look at, and climb on board, superyachts and sail boats. They looked at a host of sailing vessels. Experienced kayaking sessions with Rockley Watersports and soaked up the atmosphere of the Boat Show.
As you can see our pupils enjoyed the day out.
