Head boy Elections

Today the school community came together to cast their votes to elect a new Head boy.

We had an excellent turnout and the race to the top job was a close run affair with only 2 votes splitting the top 2 candidates.

Congratulations to our new Head boy and Deputy Head boy, seen below with Mr Penfold.

3HI Sailing into the new year with a trip to the boat show

3HI, along with the majority of the school visited the Southampton boat show this week. This was an exciting day for all of 3HI, having never been before. 

They were lucky enough to be able try out some exciting water activities, including paddle boarding, kayaking and scuba diving!! 

They loved engaging with the Southampton university staff, who put on some fun interactive activities and tasks, including using Lego which helped them to understand local coastal erosion and VR headsets to visit the Antarctic. 

The day finished with a rare chance to snoop around some multi million pound Sunseekers, to give them a taste of what they could one day own….when they are earning their own millions! 

The boys also went out on a blue funnel cruise on the Solent and watched a water safety “float to live” demonstration from the RNLI. 

So a big thanks to all at the Southampton boat show!! 

The Polygon School now has a GYM!

 The Polygon School has a brand new gym now at Morris House (MoHo)!

We are so pleased and excited! This is such a good new facility for our school and pupils, who are all really enjoying it! We have a CrossFit, rowing machine, weights etc.

 The gym has rubber floors and mirrored walls, with the MoHo Logo and inspirational quotes.

Staff are also allowed to use the gym after school hours for their mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Southampton Boat Show - Schools and Careers Day

 Southampton Boat Show - Schools and Careers Day

This year we were again fortunate enough to receive tickets to attend Southampton Boat Show. The focus was on different Maritime careers there are on offer in Southampton. 

We visited stands from the University of Southampton, Princess, Sunseaker and the RNLI among others. Pupils also participated in the Blue Line harbour boat tour, Rockley Paddles sports and Andark diving.

Our thanks go to the Southampton Boat show for the opportunity to attend.

HAF Club Summer 2024

 During the summer holiday we ran 2 weeks of HAF (Holiday activities and food) club. 20 pupils altogether were invited to attend for 1 week each. The club is based at Morris House, with the group leaving site each day to do something fun. All the boys who attended got themselves to the club independently. We had a lovely time-here are some of our pictures below.

3HI End of Year Trip 2024-Thorpe Park

 

At the end of last term 3HI went to Thorpe Park for their end of year trip. We had a fantastic day-the boys were perfectly behaved and we all so brave! (Unlike Miss Long who said she would go on the rides but turned out to be a bit of a bottle-job!).

We had a great year with you boys last year in 3HI-thank you all.
