As we approach the end of term, the sun has been shining and gave the pupils a fantastic opportunity to learn a sport from overseas!
Throwing and catching is an important skill, one that will help the pupils learn co-ordination and the challenges of using their strong and weaker hand. KS3 definitely having fun out there. Those baseball gloves do a great job covering their hands.
One strike and you're out!
Year 10 Health and Fitness NCFE
-To try and give the pupils on the Health and Fitness course in Year 10, we have been dissecting a lambs heart.
-It gives the pupils an opportunity to see the size similarity with the human heart as well as the different parts and how strong the blood vessels and valves are that help keep your heart beating from when it develops in the uterus in early pregnancy
Our Year 11 boys are working very hard through this second term. In our practical PE lessons we have been implementing the topics of the coursework and created a circuit based on Muscular Endurance and Coordination.
These two topics will have the boys using and improving their motor skills, improving their muscualr fatigue and testing their mental strength. Here we have class 4PR and 4NT showcasing their skills.
Learning The Set Shot
Here at Polygon School the pupils are learning how to perform the "Set Shot" in basketball. Our year 7's are currently understanding the importance of taking turns and using hand eye co-ordination to shoot at the basket.
We, the P.E. department, focus on instructing the pupils so that they are mentally and physically prepared to take the next steps.
Football Tournament at Samuel Cody School, Farnborough, 26th January 2026
Polygon School took a KS3 and a KS4 Team to the tournament to play a range of teams from schools in and around the Farnborough area.
Both teams did exceptionally well in some very cold and tricky conditions, returning it in time for the end of the day
Well Done To All Boys Involved!
We had so much fun this morning with our Christmas-themed swimming session! 🎄🏊♂️
Check out the photos of students decorating Christmas trees and the reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh to deliver presents!
All the students have worked incredibly hard on their swimming this term, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements with ASA certificates in the New Year.
A BIG thank you, as always, to the amazing staff at Shirley Swimming Pool, who welcome us every Thursday. We can’t wait to be back in 2026!
This term we are testing the boys' fitness and exercise skills. Once a week KS3 and KS4 pupils will be taking part in an indoor fitness circuit. This will teach the boys to use their: Co-ordination, Balance and Muscular Endurance.
This is an opportunity to work hard in just a matter of seconds, whilst also learning how to set up equipment and clearing away each station at the end of the circuits. Teaching the boys discipline and confidence!
