Rocket Challenge

Pupils had a challenge to make a rocket from balloons with a prize for the groups who's rocket travelled the furthest. This was harder than it sounded, with groups completing lots of trial flights to perfect their rockets. Some of which looked brilliant!

Sometimes the results were not as we expected.....

But when the rockets did fly, we got some great results.

The winners were 3AW, who's rocket not only looked spectacular, but shot across the science room and passed Mr Penfold's window.

Well done 3AW, great effort and amazing initiative and resilience.

Feeding the fish!

To make sure the goldfish are happy through the holidays, we like to give them lots of fresh plants to enrich their tank as they are great for oxygenising the water, and the fish do like to nibble on them.

So this week, 3 pupils from 3AW took a trip out to The Nature Collective as they had elodea densa in stock. That's not all they had, we saw tortoises and lizards as well as an amazing range of fish.

Pupils are already planning what we can add to our tank in September!

Year 8 at Fort Nelson

Year 8 visited Fort Nelson in Fareham last week. The museum had a variety of tanks, cannons and armour. The boys enjoyed exploring the tunnels under the fort best and making up stories as to what may have happened there all those years ago!

Fort Nelson is one of five defensive forts built on the summit of Portsdown Hill in the 1860s, overlooking the important naval base of Portsmouth.

Year 8 Pancake Making!

3KP and 3JB have enjoyed making pancakes for their breakfast on Thursdays.
The two groups have worked together and their pancakes look amazing-especially covered in syrup! Well done boys.

Longdown Activity Farm-Baby Animal Handling

On Monday year 8 went to Longdown Activity Farm. The boys had a great day-their favourite part was being able to hold the baby animals!

Congratulating each other.

Some proud achievements.

It was a very close finish with 9 points between our winning team and the 4th place team.
