The game
started off at the usual frantic pace, as both teams were full of energy and
enthusiasm. Both the home keeper and Polygon’s Reece, making his debut, had
several saves to make in the opening exchanges.
Once the
game settled into a natural rhythm, Polygon took control of the game. Our
superior passing and ball control lead to us creating numerous chances in a 5
minute spell that kept the home keeper busy. The pressure eventually told, as
Arron picked up a loose ball close to the centre circle, played a one-two
with Frank, dribbled passed a defender and hit an unstoppable shot low to the
keepers’ right. This spurred Coxlease on to create several chances themselves,
however Reece was in inspired form and Polygon held on until half time to keep
the score at 1-0.

Coxlease
started the 2nd half as they finished the 1st, creating
numerous opportunities to score. Reece, along with superb defending by Lukas
and Leon, again came to our rescue to keep Polygon in the lead. This paved
the way for Arron to score his 2nd goal of the game to give
Polygon a 2-0 lead. This appeared to deflate the home team and Polygon quickly
made it 3-0.
Jack pouncing on a rare mistake from the home keeper and slotted the ball into the
net from a difficult angle. Jack was then replaced by Alfie, another
debutant, who made an instant impact by setting up Arron for his hat-trick to
make it 4-0. Polygon were now in complete control and Arron added a 5th
goal two minutes before the end to make the final score 5-0 to the away team.
A superb performance
all-round, but a special mention to Reece for keeping a clean sheet on
his debut.
