Reece's Reflection!
Reece’s Reflection of the last 5
years at The Polygon!
When I look
back at my time here I realise how quickly it’s gone since starting in year 7!
I’ve have lots of great memories including going sailing with Charlie and Mr
Rooke, going to the Rapids with Leon and Mrs Foster, representing the school in
football matches, becoming deputy head boy and Christmas dinners and activities.
If I was
going to give advice to new year 7 pupils I would tell them to behave and treat
people with respect because although teachers sometimes get on your nerves they
are actually alright!

Poet Visit
The second poet to visit The Polygon School was local performer and writer Ricky Tart. He engaged the boys in a 30 minute assembly showing off his beat boxing skills and tried to encourage the boys to have ago themselves.

The Year 7s and 8s were then lucky enough to each have a workshop with Ricky. Using the theme of friendship the boys then wrote their own poetry pieces in a form of a rap. Below the year 7s working hard.

Schools into Stadiums
Schools into Stadiums
Last week two of our pupils were fortunate enough to be invited to St Mary's Stadium to participate in the Schools into Stadiums Careers Day.
During the day they learnt about becoming a groundskeeper. They had sessions in grass cutting, line marking and how to grow Premier League quality grass for Southampton FC to play on.
We would like to thank The Saints Foundation for this opportunity extended to our pupils. They both found the day informative and it gave a real world aspiration to our learners who wish to follow that career pathway.
