This week in cookery we have been making Chicken Chow Mein. The boys showed-off their knife skills in this recipe as there were so many veggies to cut!
It smelt delicious in the top corridor this week and many of the boys enjoyed eating their Chow Mein for lunch or dinner.
We are so excited to tell everyone that we have gained a GOLD award for Healthy Healthy 5 for the Polygon School. So much hard work has gone into achieving this award and I am, as the HH5 lead, personally so proud of the whole team here!

This week KS3 had great fun swimming at Shirley Pool and made great progress towards their distance awards and skills progression.

Year 7 have had an excellent start to a new term in Reading lessons!
We are continuing to explore fiction texts and have started reading Krindlekrax by Phillip Ridley.
Last week we used the cover and blurb to predict what the text may be about and explored the idea of a hero.
This week we started reading aloud and understanding the characters and their catchphrases. We also had great fun with some drama.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays we have Mr T in school doing boxing, music and various fitness sessions. I was lucky enough to see a small group taking part in a Strength and Conditioning session in the hall today.
One pupil even managed to bench press 50kg!
At Christmas we all really enjoy our cookery lessons. The boys are given a choice of what they would like to cook from:
