The Polygon School are taking part in the 2.6 Challenge to help raise money for Southampton City Catering
Sunday the 26th April would have been the date
of the London Marathon, many charities across the UK rely on the income
generated by such a massive fundraising event. Last year alone the marathon
raised £66.4 million pounds.
In these difficult times charities are being hit
hard and are losing out on vital funding streams.
As a Polygon School community, we would like to
take part in the 2.6 Challenge and support our partner City Catering (registered charity number
1160776) who are currently working around the clock to continue to feed
families in Southampton.
Our aim is to collectively walk, run or cycle
the minimum distance of the London Marathon (26 miles). However it
would be even better if 26 people could run/walk/cycle 2.6 miles each- this would mean we
would cover 2.6 marathons which is just over 68 miles!
We are asking for all member of our community to participate on Monday 27th April (The day after the London Marathon).

We would like to collect pictures to celebrate
our achievements so please send your photographs into info@polygon.southampton.sch.uk.
I know as a staff team many of us will be running at school and from
home.
Remember to follow the government guidelines and
keep a social distance!
If you are unable to get out and run, walk or
jog please participate in anyway you can. This could be by making posters,
climbing stairs, sit ups or anything that involves the number 26 or 2.6!
