Year 9 Citizenship
This term the Year 9 pupils have started Citizenship by looking at Democracy and how our country is run.
As part of this both groups played the 'Government Game'. Each pupils held a role in government and had to negotiate for a department budget with one pupil acting as the Chancellor allocating budgets. They needed to balance the books, negotiate and even debate raising taxes to pay for everything, or reducing budgets and cutting back.
All pupils engaged well and had a taste of how hard it is to allocate money, increase taxes or tell people there is not enough money to go around.
