Wealth
Question:
What do you have which you can share with others?
Being wealthy means having a lot of something valuable for example money or resources.
Many of the richest countries today (including the UK) became wealthy when they stole people, resources, and land from other countries, and although richer countries now trade with and give money and support known as ‘foreign aid’ to poorer countries, they take much more than that from them through international debt and not paying taxes. If we want to create a reasonable world, we need to care more about each other and the planet than we do about creating wealth, and find better ways to share with people who have less than us.
Wealth is something we all aspire to have and one that can be successful at accomplishing if you learn the ways in which to get there.
Most people think wealth is about having the most amount of money, which yes ultimately is the definition in short. However, thinking of wealth in a more logical term for many people who are not in the top three richest people or countries.
We need to come back down to earth to think about what is wealth to you or myself. Wealth could mean array of things. It is about having the most in something, anything. Such as the stepping stones in your education or career.
Wealth could be a personal meaning to you in your achievements. Wealth is having something you have a considerable amount in. For example, you could look at your education. Having knowledge in a particular subject and then using that knowledge to then take exam and exile in, to then develop this in further education. In then doing further education you are using your wealth in that subject to enable and educate several things, business, people, or the world.
What is the Difference?
Prosperity:
While prosperity and wealth are often used interchangeably, prosperity seems a little more expansive. It often factors in health and happiness as well as one’s financial well-being.
For example, wealthy people might have all the money but also can be unhappy most of the time too. Think about Ebenezer Scrooge from The Christmas Carol, he was highly wealthy but he lacked in happiness and did not share his wealth to others. So, overall people can be wealthy but not prosperous. Prosperity takes more of the complete view of life. it is not just about one thing.
Abundance:
Abundance is more about contentment. This is a feeling of plenty, with the peace of mind that there is enough for everyone.
When an individual, family or society has a sense of abundance, there is usually less competition for a limited number of resources.
If someone has more than you do, the only way for you to gain is to take from someone else. But that is not necessary when you have a sense of having plenty.
Abundance is the key to participation and partnership. It is a sense of win-win, not win-lose. More easily said than done when it comes to family dynamics though.
Most People in world consider that “wealth” has nothing to do with money. Seeking true wealth may mean seeking deeper relationships, more personal growth or ways to create more meaning in life. Achieving true wealth means possessing the ability to enjoy the small, ordinary pleasures of life.
So, the question after identifying wealth is creating meaning in life, what do you have which you can share with others?
Remember:
It can be something you have that you can share with others than they may not have.
