Reboot the Future

Who is responsible for tracking climate change?

Possible answers you may have come up with:

You?

Us?

The Government?

Energy Producers?

The world together?

Scientists?

Answer:

The fact is everyone has a contribution to make in climate change better. Some may have a bigger job, but we ourselves need to take small actions to benefit in making the future a better place for us but most importantly the eco system and everything about the planet.

Questions:

Why do countries need to work together for this?

What might stop them making the plans to stop climate breakdown?

Further Questions for you:

How do you think climate change will affect you?

What will the future look like if we don’t do anything?

What can you do to help prevent further breakdown of climate change?

Climate Change in a nutshell

Climate change is the average weather over many years. Climate change is a shift in those average conditions.

The rapid climate change we are now seeing is caused by humans using oil, gas and coal for their homes, factories and transport.

When these fossil fuels burn, they release greenhouse gases and mostly carbon dioxide (CO2.) These gases trap the sun’s heat and cause the planet’s temperature to rise.

The world is now about 1.2C warmer than it was in the 19th Century and the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has risen by 50%

Did you know every year representatives from over 2,000 countries meet to discuss how to tackle climate breakdown. This year’s COP26 as it is referred to as, will be held in Glasgow. The programme starts on the 1st – 12th November.

Each Nation will share their plans to cut their carbon emissions.
