Pupils across the school were picked by Grow Wild to grow Oyster mushrooms using their fungus lab kits.
3KP, 3LB, 3BW and Morris House pupils were given a kit with detailed instructions on how to grow and harvest the oyster mushrooms.Morris House pupils started by sterilising the straw then leaving it in a dark cool place for 3 weeks. A quick spell in the fridge to mimic autumn and then the fun-gi started.
Pupils from both Morris House and 3KP managed to grow oyster mushrooms, with 3KP growing without even going in the fridge!
Morris House grew quality mushrooms which were very tasty as I cooked them myself.
